How do I clean my paddleboard?

Keeping your paddleboard clean will ensure you get many years of trouble-free use out of it. What's the best way to clean it?

Clean water and a rag and towel is generally all you will need to keep your paddleboard clean. Once in a while or for more stubborn marks/dirt, you should use a solution of mild soap (such as dish soap) and water with a pot scrubber or toothbrush. It is much easier to clean your board when it is fully inflated.

To keep your SUP clean, you should follow these steps after each use:

  1. Clean the underside of your paddleboard. Clean water and a rag will be all that's necessary.

  2. Use a hose or wet rag to wipe the side rails of your board

  3. Flip the board over and repeat the process. The EVA deck pad is more likely to require some elbow grease to clean as the EVA is softer and more porous than the PVC body. A soft scrub brush can be used with soap if necessary.

  4. Let the board dry. In hot, sunny weather, it is best to let the board dry in the shade.

  5. Use a towel to dry the underside of the board if still wet.

  6. Deflate, roll and store once dry.

For more stubborn marks (usually on the side rails) you can use a non-abrasive cleaning product such as magic erasers or baking soda. These should only be used on the PVC material, never on the EVA deck pad or areas with graphics.
